After his father, former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, spoke in court and pledged to drive him back to Texas and make sure he shows up to his court appearances, he was granted bail on Thursday.
In an interview with Gainesville Police Department Detective Donna Montague, he previously acknowledged posting two photographs on the social networking platform Discord that contained explicit material about child sexual abuse.
Following a preliminary examination of Kitna’s electronic devices in accordance with a search warrant executed on Wednesday, three further images of child sexual abuse material were found in Kitna’s possession.
Kenyon’s request was refused by Alachua County Court Judge Meshon T. Rawls, who also issued orders prohibiting Kitna from using the internet and having unsupervised contact with kids
The 2021 recruiting class of Florida signed Kitna, the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna.
He did not play in any games as a true freshman but was named starting quarterback Anthony Richardson’s backup in 2022. In those four games, he completed 10-of-14 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown.
