It’s been more than 17 years since the last census.

In Nigeria, the National Population Commission is responsible for conducting the census, and it is usually conducted every ten years.

Nigeria will begin a national census at the end of March and we are not sure why it took so long for the commission but we look forward to the results.

The last census was conducted in 2006 and it was stated that the population was around (140,003,542) One hundred and forty million people.

The Republic of Nigeria is now estimated to have a population of more than 200 million people, and the United Nations has predicted that this figure will double by 2050.

This would make Nigeria the third most populous country in the world, surpassing the United States.

Census figures in Nigeria play an important role in the sharing of oil revenues and political representation among the 36 states and capital.

Previous counts have been discredited due to disputes among all three major groups.

The Chairman of the National Population Commission has revealed that the census will be held from March 29 to April 22 and this is exactly a month after Nigerians vote for a new president.
